Your support network - audio
Today I’m sending a wee nudge to you to think about your support network.
Self-supporting - creating a life that is inherently supportive of your needs, allowing the wisdom of your chronic illness to support you - is great and absolutely foundational…
But it doesn’t negate the need for external support.
The chronic illness journey has the potential to very easily slip into loneliness and solitude; the feeling that you’ve got to do it all by yourself and hide your experiences. Whether it’s driven by shame, embarrassment, by the feeling you won’t be understood…I get it!
But asking for - and allowing yourself to accept - support, is MAGIC. It’s game changing.
So this week, think about where and who you can ask for support. Think about how you can share your journey with a safe person, in a safe space, where it will be openly heard and witnessed.
Be it with a loved one, in therapy, anonymously, with a coach, in finding a peer group…
Give yourself the space and freedom to go there.
